In a Earthing/Grounding system, the Copper Bonded Rod provides the physical connection to the earth and is the instrument used to dissipate current into it. There are two main types of electrodes.

“Natural” electrodes are intrinsic to the facility and include metal underground water pipe, the metal frame of the building (if effectively grounded), and reinforcing bar in concrete foundations.

“Made” electrodes are installed specifically to improve the performance of the grounding system and include wire meshes, metallic plates, buried copper conductor and rods or pipe driven into the Copper Bonded Rod.

• Copper layer is over 0.254mm (copper layer thickness can be on request, such as 0.10mm, 0.25mm, 0.100mm, 0.150mm, 0.200mm, 0.254mm etc. upto 0.850mm). Please note that 0.254mm is also known as 254 micron or 0.10mm as 100 micron but if our customer request for Standard Micron i.e 15-25 micron, than we also manufacture in standard micron)

Pure Copper Earth Rod is made from 99.9% pure electrolytic copper. Pure Copper Earth Rod offer greater resistance to corrosion. They are ideally used in applications where soil conditions are very aggressive. Solid copper Earth Rod is used when better conductivity and corrosion resistance is preferred.

Pure Copper Earth Rod are of two types. Externally threaded and Internally threaded. Pure Copper Earth Rods is used where the factor of corrosion is very high and exceptionally long life is required. Grounding mat is a Flat, flexible pad used for working on electrostatic sensitive devices. It is generally made of a conductive plastic or metal mesh covered substrate which is electrically attached to earth. This helps discharge any static charge which a worker has built up, as well as any static charge on tools or exposed components lay on the mat.

Grounding mats are also found on fuel trucks and tankers, which are otherwise insulated from ground as they make physical contact only with their tires and the air obviously static discharge is undesirable during fuel-transfer operations. Similarly, in aircraft refuelling, a grounding mat cable connects the tanker (truck or airplane) to the fuel-seeking craft to eliminate charge differences before fuel is transferred.

In an electrical substation and ground mat is a mesh of conductive material installed at places where a person would stand to operate a switch or other apparatus; it is bonded to the local supporting metal structure and to the handle of the switchgear, so that the person operator will not be exposed to a high differential voltage due to a fault in the substation.

Cubano Copper Bonded Earth Rods

These Earth Rods is useful for installing a low earth resistance with cost effective solution. It has a low carbon, high tensile strength,steel core and pure copper is applied electrolytically and helps to establish metallurgical bond between the steel core and the copper. The threads are formed by a rolling process which ensures strength and maintains the molecularly bonded copper covering along the full length of the threads. Rolled threads are stronger than cut-threads.
